Kroger, SE Ohio Foodbank fight summer hunger

LOGAN — On Wednesday, May 29, Kroger and the SE Ohio Foodbank will team up for a Summer Meals Packing Event in Logan. A generous $20,000 contribution from Kroger will provide 12,000 meals plus snacks for children facing hunger this summer. During the Summer Meals Packing Event volunteers will fill boxes with shelf-stable, kid-friendly foods purchased with this funding.

Southeast Ohio region. The event will take place from 10 a.m.–noon at the SE Ohio Foodbank Annex, 35222 Hocking Drive, Logan.

One in six children face food insecurity in the counties served by the SE Ohio Foodbank. When school is out during the summer, lack of access to meals provided by free and reduced-priced lunch programs can make it harder for children to receive the nutritious food they need to grow and lead a healthy life.
