A local man faces a felony harassment charge after a Cabool Police Department investigation of an incident at a woman’s house on May 13.

Shawn J. Morris, 55, of 816 Patton Ave. in Cabool, is charged with first-degree harassment (a class E felony) and tampering with property of another (a misdemeanor).

According to a probable cause statement, two CPD officers were dispatched to a house at an unreported location after a woman reported that Morris was in her yard and wasn’t supposed to be there. She also reported that the electricity was out in her house and she had contacted City Hall and been told there were no outages.

When officers arrived, they observed Morris standing by his pickup truck that was blocking the driveway.

Morris reportedly was previously banned from the property as a condition of bond from a previous charge involving the woman.

When contact was made with Morris, he reportedly admitted to turning off the power to the house.

Morris was arrested and taken to jail. Cash-only bond in the case is set at $2,500.
