    'Tough Decision': Peabody Mexican Restaurant Closes After 5 Years; Second Location Remains Open

    A popular Mexican restaurant in Peabody announced on social media this week that it was closing so the owner could spend more time with his family.

    La Siesta opened five years ago at 3 Main St. and has several positive reviews on Yelp and Google.

    The restaurant said in an Instagram post on Wednesday, May 15, that it had closed its doors, but management welcomed their loyal customers to make the trip to 70 Woodside Ave. in Winthrop for the same level of service and quality.

    Dear Peabody Community,We wanted to share some news with you all. After five wonderful years, we have made the tough decision to close our Peabody location. Owner Martin has decided to sell the restaurant so he can spend more time with his family. We want to take this moment to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you that has supported us in Peabody. We thank you for your patronage, loyalty and friendship this community has brought us.While we may be closing our doors in Peabody, please know that our commitment to providing exceptional service and quality remains unwavering.We invite you to continue to support us at our Winthrop location.Thank you again for your support, and we hope to see you soon in Winthrop.

    The Winthrop location has been open for 17 years, according to a Facebook post.

    Several reviews of La Siesta boasted about the quality of the drinks and portion sizes, along with recommendations for "must-try" dishes.
