Two favorite local festivals fill up the weekend with food and outdoor sports. A beloved art and craft gallery celebrates 22 years. And youthful voices and musical menopause cross the generations. All in “What’s Booming RVA: Lebanese Feast.”

Anniversary Weekend at Crossroads Art Center

Open house and artist reception on May 17, 5 to 8 p.m. FREE to attend but registration required.

Also open May 18, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and May 19, noon to 4 p.m. At Crossroads Art Center, Richmond

Celebrate the 22nd anniversary of Richmond’s expansive gallery of local and regional fine arts and crafts. Appreciate the skills of the artists and crafters for the satisfaction of the moment or to add to your own collections or as gifts. Exhibition unveilings include “The Gift of Trees,” “Ode to Richmond,” Encorepreneurs! Exhibition. And guests can browse the many other collections of art and crafts – during the anniversary.

    Lebanese Food Festival

May 17 to 19 at St. Anthony’s Maronite Catholic Church, Glen Allen

Music, dancing, culture, and plenty of traditional Lebanese food. Savor tabouli, bubbaghanooge, and grape leaves. Fill your appetite with fatayer (pies) of cheese, spinach, feta and spinach; falafel or shawarma; and meat or roasted lamb and kabobs. Finish with a sweet treat like katayef crepes, baklawa, macroun, and more. Indoor and outdoor dining areas. Online ordering available. No pets.

    Dominion Energy Riverrock

May 17 to 19, along the riverside from Brown’s Island up to Kanawha Plaza, Richmond

The annual outdoor sports and music festival boasts a new bigger layout and new events. As a participant or spectators, enjoy trail running, cycling, fishing, paddle boarding, bouldering, slacklining, kayaking, yoga, leaping air dogs, and more. New this year: skimboarding and kayak polo. Soak in the music, wander through more than 40 vendor and sponsor exhibitions, sample activities, enjoy food and drink. FREE for spectators.

Greater Richmond Children’s Choir: Spring Concert

    May 19, 4 p.m., St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Richmond

    All GRCC choirs participating. FREE.

“Menopause the Musical 2: Cruising Through ‘The Change.’”

May 21, 7:30 p.m., at Dominion Energy Center, Richmond

The sequel to the original continues the comedic look at the joys of menopause and friendship, accompanied by new parodies of hits from the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s.
