No doubt all of us feel down at times. If you’re feeling down, I want to help. As you know if you’ve read my stuff, I’m perpetually optimistic and always look for a silver lining. After all, silver can bring a pretty good return. Well, maybe I’m not Rebekah of Sunnybrook Farm after all. Still, here are some things you may be thankful for. I’m using personal experiance for some of these.

1: Clothes, and not just your own.

Sure, your clothes might not be the best, but at least you have some. And because you have some you can hide some of your imperfections. And thankfully other people are also wearing clothes. Ane aren’t we glad! Imagine how much worse things could be without clothes.

2: Flowers and other beauties of nature.

The adage, “stop and smell the roses” has some merit. It does come with a caveat. It’s best not to smell the roses immediately after they’ve received what I’ll call, “organic fertilizer.”

    3: The IRS.

Yea, I know this sounds counterintuitive but think about it. If you ever think everybody has forgotten about you, remember the IRS hasn’t. Feel better?

4: Cliches about counting your blessing.

While cliches may not help you feel better, ridiculing cliches can give an emotional release for negative feelings. Perhaps there is some benefit for replacing one negative emotion with another.

5: You’re poor, but Brett Favre lives in another state.

This works for everybody except poor people who life in Mississippi. In the other 49 states of the United States poor people have a shot at receiving benefits intended to help them.

6: Old TV shows and a faulty memory.

Combine those two things with an app that provides access to those old TYV shows and movies and you have cheap entertainment.

7: I’m able to sleep late on a lot of days.

I’ve heard the early bird catches the worm, but personally, I’d rather wake up without worms. So, remember,“Sleep late to prevent worms!”

8: Letting myself go doesn’t involve much travel.

There’s a certain point to where if I let myself go, I’m not sure anybody could tell.

9: I can tuck in my shirt without having to lay down on a bed.

When I saw Rudy Giuliani lay down, allegedly to tuck in his shirt, it made me thankfully that I’m able to tuck in my shirt while standing up. The things poor Rudy has to do to maintain a sharp appearance.

10: I’m not surrounded by friends who move like runway or fashion models.

Did you ever see the way those people move and pose? It looks like they are dealing with a combination of chaffing and birth defects. How is it that otherwise seemingly healthy people walk like their hips have to rotate 180 degrees with every step?
