Grades, no matter the educational level, are meaningless. They are the most unreliable measure of achievement as no two people doing the grading are necessarily measuring the same thing. We have been duped forever!Performance-Based Learning where achievement is measured using criterion-referenced tests/assessments should have become the norm long ago! Of course, it requires more time and effort to design, administer, and report, but this is a high stakes business where student performance opens doors, and it behooves us to get it right!
