<body><div><p>A breakdown of who should get the top ratings among the Bulldogs on the upcoming EA Sports video game.</p><p>Fans and video gamers alike have had to wait nearly a decade since EA Sports put out a college football video game. That wait is set to end this summer, leading to a whole lot of anticipation for what's to come.</p><p>EA Sports dropped its first trailer for College Football 25 on Friday. The video release comes after a week in which the video game company also shared the games release date — July 16 for the deluxe edition and July 19 for standard — and the standard cover featuring Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, Michigan running back Donovan Edwards, and Colorado cornerback Travis Hunter.</p><div style="position:relative;width:100%; height:0; padding-bottom: 56.25%;"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/W1QDaXkufCo?enablejsapi=1&version=3&playerapiid=ytplayer" allowfullscreen frameborder="0" style="width:100%; height:100%;top:0; left:0; position:absolute"></iframe></div><p>Georgia got a piece of the pre-release hype with quarterback Carson Beck being on the deluxe edition, but now fans are back in waiting mode with a little over two months until the new game comes out. The Bulldogs will likely be one of the highest-rated teams on this year's edition, although we're still waiting to see those ratings and to see which Georgia players are considered among the best in the entire game.</p><p>To help fill the time, I have a question that needs to be answered: who should be the top-rated Georgia players on this year's game? After considering the options up and down the roster, here's my list from No. 10 down to who I think should be the Bulldogs' top-rated player:</p><h2>10. RUNNING BACK TREVOR ETIENNE</h2><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=2BeEUR_0t6dhNEe00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=2BeEUR_0t6dhNEe00" width="620" height="320" ><figcaption>(Photo: Benjamin Wolk, 247Sports)</figcaption></figure><p>Georgia picked up several players in the transfer portal this offseason, and a few of them are in position to start this season. One of them is former Florida running back Trevor Etienne, who is hoping to take his game to the next level in Athens.</p><p>Etienne showed off his speed at G-Day with an acceleration that should come in handy in this year's video game. Etienne didn't catch the ball a ton while at Florida (he averaged 1.9 receptions per game in 2023), but that ability would up his overall rating.</p><p>I expect Etienne to be the highest-rated Georgia running back on this year's game but to probably fall short of the 90 overall mark. Still, No. 1 will be the top player in the Bulldogs' running back and get a lot of touches in the video game.</p><h2>9. RIGHT GUARD TATE RATLEDGE</h2><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=3h5esn_0t6dhNEe00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=3h5esn_0t6dhNEe00" width="620" height="320" ><figcaption>(Photo: Icon Sportswire, Getty)</figcaption></figure><p>Traditionally, the College Football video games have rewarded older players in their ratings, especially multi-year starters. Tate Ratledge fits that mold, and his experience should lead to him being one of Georgia's top-rated players.</p><p>Ratledge has been a mainstay at right guard for the Bulldogs these past few seasons and will probably be the second-highest rated offensive lineman on this year's starting line. Really, the big question will be whether or not Ratledge is able to rock his illustrious mullet. If not, I want my money back.</p><h2>8. WIDE RECEIVER DOMINIC LOVETT</h2><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=2yTGVB_0t6dhNEe00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=2yTGVB_0t6dhNEe00" width="620" height="320" ><figcaption>(Photo: Chris Collins, 247Sports)</figcaption></figure><p>Dominic Lovett hit the ground running for Georgia last season and quickly established himself as a go-to receiver in this offense. I believe he'll be Georgia's top-rated wide receiver in this year's game, a real accomplishment given the talent in the room.</p><p>Lovett strikes me as a receiver who'll have pretty balanced attributes in terms of pass-catching. I don't think he'll necessarily be rated like a big-play threat, but he'll have good speed, acceleration, route running, and catching ability. He's set to be a go-to target for Carson Beck, and that should be made clear by Lovett's overall rating.</p><h2>7. DEFENSIVE TACKLE NAZIR STACKHOUSE</h2><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=1XJugl_0t6dhNEe00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=1XJugl_0t6dhNEe00" width="620" height="320" ><figcaption>(Photo: Chris Collins, 247Sports)</figcaption></figure><p>Nazir Stackhouse was the most reliable player in the middle of Georgia's defensive line last season, and his return for 2024 was a big win for the Bulldogs. Not only is Stackhouse set to make a lot of plays this fall, but he should also be one of the top-rated Bulldogs on College Football 25.</p><p>Stackhouse should be rated as a run-stuffing defensive tackle, which means we should see high numbers for strength, block-shedding, and power moves. Stackhouse could get a little love for his finesse moves, and I'll take issue if his pass-catching ability is low given the interception he had against Missouri. </p><p>The fact that EA Sports went a decade without a college football game meant we were robbed of playing with Georgia defenses featuring the likes of Jordan Davis, Travon Walker, and Jalen Carter. While I don't think Stackhouse would be rated as highly as those guys would've been, he'll be recognized as a disruptor on this defense and should be rated as such.</p><h2>INSIDE LINEBACKER JALON WALKER</h2><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=3BmJl7_0t6dhNEe00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=3BmJl7_0t6dhNEe00" width="620" height="320" ><figcaption>(Photo: Chris Collins, 247Sports)</figcaption></figure><p>I want to make a quick distinction here before I break down Jalon Walker: this list is all about how Georgia players <i>should</i> be rated for this game and is not a prediction of how they will be. CJ Allen will probably be the second-highest rated inside linebacker, but I would give the nod to Walker instead.</p><p>Walker has been Georgia's Swiss Army knife on defense the last few years. Although he's still training as an inside linebacker, he's gotten a lot of run as a third-down pass rusher and has delivered quite a bit in that role. He possesses excellent speed and is a sure tackler, which should make him one of the top-rated defenders on this year's game.</p><p>My big question as far as College Football 25 goes is what position EA Sports will put Walker at. I imagine they'll have him at inside linebacker; if that's the case, you can expect me to move him outside and let him wreak havoc.</p><h2>5. INSIDE LINEBACKER SMAEL MONDON</h2><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=2bdulf_0t6dhNEe00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=2bdulf_0t6dhNEe00" width="620" height="320" ><figcaption>(Photo: Todd Kirkland, Getty)</figcaption></figure><p>Smael Mondon might've been even higher on this list if not for battling injuries last season. That said, he should probably have an overall rating a little north of 90 largely due to his freakish athleticism.</p><p>Mondon has shown himself to not only possess excellent speed but has proven himself to be as sure of a tackler as the Bulldogs have. Mondon is gearing up to be a third-year starter on one of the nation's top defenses, and I expect his overall rating to show as much.</p><h2>4. OFFENSIVE TACKLE EARNEST GREENE</h2><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=0w63qo_0t6dhNEe00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=0w63qo_0t6dhNEe00" width="620" height="320" ><figcaption>(Photo: Tony Walsh/UGAAA)</figcaption></figure><p>Earnest Greene is the kind of offensive linemen that coaches love. He's been reliable from day one as a Dawg, and it's very rare that you see him make a mistake or give up a sack.</p><p>Greene should receive high ratings in both pass blocking and run blocking and should also get a high mark on impact blocking, which should mean plenty of pancakes courtesy No. 71. This offensive line should make life easy for gamers using Georgia, and I believe Greene should be the top-rated player among the big men up front.</p><h2>3. DEFENSIVE END MYKEL WILLIAMS</h2><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=1s8c4o_0t6dhNEe00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=1s8c4o_0t6dhNEe00" width="620" height="320" ><figcaption>(Photo: Jasen Vinlove, USA TODAY Sports)</figcaption></figure><p>Mykel Williams has been seen as a physical freak since his high school days, and he's shown flashes of being an absolutely dominant defender for the Dawgs. Williams should be rated in the mid-90s on this year's game, which means he'll be a headache for opposing offenses.</p><p>Williams should be Georgia's fastest defensive lineman in this game while possessing high ratings for strength, finesse moves, and tackling. His athleticism should also get high marks, making it possible to move him to outside linebacker like the Bulldogs look to do some this season.</p><p>Williams should be rated like the first-round pick most people expect him to be. The end result should be a defensive lineman who absolutely devastates quarterbacks.</p><h2>2. QUARTERBACK CARSON BECK</h2><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=48bPgc_0t6dhNEe00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=48bPgc_0t6dhNEe00" width="620" height="320" ><figcaption>(Photo: Sam Navarro, USA TODAY Sports)</figcaption></figure><p>Carson Beck has established himself as a reliable playmaker and comes into this season as one of the Heisman Trophy favorites. It should be no surprise to see him this high on the list, and I'm sure some believe No. 2 is a spot too low.</p><p>Beck should have a high passing strength, high passing accuracy, and high awareness as well as reasonable speed, though not like a true dual-threat quarterback. One of the reasons I don't have him at No. 1 is his deep-ball accuracy, though I'm not entirely sure how much he'd be docked for that aspect of his game.</p><p>Beck has a strong case to be Georgia's top-rated player, but I think he falls just short of that. I believe he will come in around 97 overall, which will still give Georgia fans a great quarterback to work with.</p><h2>1. SAFETY MALAKI STARKS</h2><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=4c8if5_0t6dhNEe00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=4c8if5_0t6dhNEe00" width="620" height="320" ><figcaption>(Photo: Kevin C. I want this list to remind folks that he is a special safety who should be the top-rated player at his position in the entire game.</p><p>If there's one Georgia player who gets a 99 overall rating in College Football 25, it should be Starks. He possesses excellent athleticism and awareness on the back end of the Georgia defense, and his speed and physicality puts him in position to make plays more often than not. Kirby Smart has commented in the past that Starks has the coverage ability to play cornerback if absolutely necessary, which is a rare trait for someone of Starks' skillset.</p><p>Starks has been a star at Georgia practically since he first stepped on campus. I think he is fully deserving of the 99 overall mark and of the status as the Bulldogs' best player in the game.</p><p><i>Disagree with the top 10?
