The YA series has been renewed for Season 2 at Prime Video, TVLine has learned. The German import, which debuted on May 9, became the streamer’s most-watched international series to date in its first week on the platform.
Adapted from Mona Kasten’s bestselling novel Save Me , the show follows the modern love story of James Beaufort (Damian Hardung) and Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbig-Matten), “an upper-class boy and a working-class girl in a world of glamor, prestige, secrets, and drama,” per the official synopsis.
“When Ruby unwittingly witnesses an explosive secret at Maxton Hall private school, the arrogant millionaire heir James Beaufort has to deal with the quick-witted scholarship student for better or worse,” it continues. “From that point on, the handsome student tries to buy Ruby’s silence. Although the two come from different worlds, they will soon risk everything to be together.”
* Cynthia McFadden, a former co-anchor for ABC News’ Nightline , is stepping down from her current post atop NBC News’ investigations team, according to Variety . In a memo to her colleagues, McFadden wrote, “It is hard to leave a job you love but this is the right time — I have a list of things I have often said I wanted to do ‘someday’. Well, someday is now, while I am still raring to go — and playing with a relatively full deck.”
