    Save the date! Commissioner Sharon McDonald’s District Wide District 5 community clean up is back again on July 20th, 7 am to noon.

    This annual event is expanded with Commissioners Nick Paul, Warren Robinson and Mark Tapley joining the mix for a cleanup in their districts. More details to come.

    There will be community dumpsters available to anyone that day July 20th from 7 am to noon.

    These 4 progressive leaders are collaborating to help clean up Alamogordo.
    The event goal is to bring the community together and renew a sense of coming together in diverse unity with services that would help with cleaning and revitalizing the district. The event offers lawn mowing, cutting weeds, removing trash from properties, shredding and large dumpsters are available for people dump trash.

    The services are offered for free to elderly, disabled, retired or those too ill to do these tasks.

    Just a heads up, any shredding assistance will be FREE. The dump located at 1350 Lavelle Rd will be FREE to everyone that is needing to dump any trash or big items on July 20th. Otherwise, the dumpster will be located at the Dudley School Community Center free to anyone on July 20th.

    This event is a volunteer event as a part of the Keep Alamogordo Beautiful campaign. Volunteers of all ages have come out each year to support Sharon’s Campaign to raise awareness about bringing together the community for clean up and pride.

    Neighborhood trash cleanups are popular community service activities often celebrated around Earth Day, but they can be done any time of year as Mrs. McDonald demonstrates. These initiatives can revitalize and beautify neighborhoods while encouraging pride in people's communities. Clean and green spaces also have myriad mental health benefits, demonstrating the need to protect and maintain these areas.
