As Melville office managing partner, Carolyn Mazzenga is responsible for overseeing the growth of Marcum’s Long Island operations. She also heads the Long Island tax department and serves on the firm’s executive committee.

A trusted business advisor, Mazzenga assists clients in wealth preservation and succession planning. She also provides personal and business income tax solutions for high-net-worth individuals and their families, with a concentration on investment managers.

Leveraging her distinction in the women’s business community, Mazzenga was instrumental in launching the Marcum Women’s Leadership Development Program, a cutting-edge initiative to help promote and nourish the careers of the firm’s female managers and partners. Currently, she serves on the firm’s national diversity, equity and inclusion committee. In addition, she chairs the annual Marcum Workplace Challenge, the firm’s largest event and the largest event of its kind on Long Island, which has raised more than $1.2 million for community nonprofit organizations since 2006.

A recognized industry leader named one of the Most Powerful Women in Accounting by several publications, Mazzenga has authored numerous articles and speaks before professional organizations on tax, estate and succession planning topics. She also has been quoted in several publications on work-life balance, flexible scheduling and women’s initiatives. In recognition of her work in the community, she has won several awards, including the Long Island Association Humanitarian Award, a Midas Award for Corporate Accounting and LIBN’s Top 50 Women in Business on Long Island.

Prior to joining Marcum in 1991, Mazzenga operated her own accounting practice. Her resume also includes 10 years of Big Four experience.
