COUNTY FAIR — It’s 118 years old now, and the Multnomah County Fair, May 25-27 at Oaks Amusement Park, 7805 S.E. Oaks Park Way, Portland, signals the start of the fair season in the Portland area and beyond. “It’s a little fair, and we’re doing our best,” Mary Beth Coffey, fair producer of the Multnomah County Fair, said last year. The fair welcomes people from all cultures — celebrates cultures, actually — and provides many traditional activities of fairs: stage entertainment, barn animals, food, vendors and art displays, as well as an Encanto sing-along, free Loteria (bingo), Wiener Dog Races, a Hip Hop Dance contest and more. Because it’s held at Oaks Amusement Park, there will be carnival rides and games galore. More: multcofair.com , oakspark.com .
