  • A Congolese politician and his son, along with his American business partner, were involved in a failed coup attempt in the D.R Congo and Mozambique. Christian Malanga, leader of the United Congolese Party based in the US, and his partner Benjamin Zalman-Polun led armed men in an attempt to enter the government complex in the Congo. Malanga was killed, and Benjamin and the son were arrested. Malanga aimed to end corruption and political deadlock, broadcasting the coup d'état on Facebook.
