    Nelsonville-York, Federal Hocking and Trimble athletes shine at Division III District meet

    NELSONVILLE — Over the end of the past week, Nelsonville-York hosted a section the Division III boys and girls track and field District championships with a litany of different student-athletes from the Buckeyes, Federal Hocking and Trimble moving on to Regionals.

    Boys Results

    In the 100 meter dash, Trimble’s Beau Burba (11.46) placed seventh.

    In the 800 meter run, Federal Hocking’s Evan McPherson (1:57.21) qualified for Regionals with a third place finish. The Lancers’ Darius Pierce (2:08.02) placed 12th. Trimble’s Levi Weber (2:01.57) finished seventh.

    In the 1600 meter run, Federal Hocking’s Pierce (4:40.33) placed sixth.

    Nelsonville-York’s AJ Stone (15.45) won the 110 meter hurdles event, sending him to Regionals.

    In the 300 meter hurdles, Nelsonville-York’s Caeleb Layton (43.23) qualified for Regionals with a fourth place finish. Trimble’s Cade Burba (44.96) placed eighth.

    Nelsonville-York’s 4x100 meter relay team of Kaden McWilliams, Landen Inman, Walker Stone and Makhi Williams won the event.

    Nelsonville-York, Trimble and Federal Hocking would all qualify for Regionals in the 4x200 meter relay. The Buckeyes’ team of McWilliams, Inman, Walker Stone and Gavin Richards (1:33.34) placed second while the Tomcats’ Weber, Cade Burba, Luke Orsborne and Beau Burba (1:33.89) finished third. The Lancers’ Tariq Cottrill, Cam Joy, Ty Walker and Dillon Haynes (1:34.48) placed fourth.

    In the 4x400 meter relay, Federal Hocking’s team of Joy, Cottrill, Haynes and McPherson placed third to qualify for Regionals.

    In the 4x800 meter relay, Trimble’s team of Isaiah Mulford, Darrius Hanning, Oliver Conley and Tommy Bennett (10:08.08) placed 14th. Nelsonville-York’s squad of Kadin Domino, Noah Loge, Kingston Lewis and Django Sow (10:22.11) finished 15th.

    In the high jump, Federal Hocking’s Haynes (5-10.00) tied for fourth.

    In the long jump, Nelsonville-York’s Landen Inman (21-03.00) placed second to qualify for Regionals. The Buckeyes’ Richards (19-06.50) finished ninth. Federal Hocking’s Tariq Cottrill (17-06.00) placed 19th while Evan Hill (13-08.00) finished 32nd.

    In the pole vault, Federal Hocking’s Myles Vorisek (8-00.00) and Izekiel Linscott (8-00.00) tied for 13th.

    In the discus throw, Nelsonville-York’s Caeleb Layton (123-02.00) placed sixth. Jaron Layton (93-03.00) finished 32nd. Trimble’s Dirk Walton (94-01.00) placed 30th. Federal Hocking’s Joseph Householder (81-03.00) and Jarron Johnson (70-09.00) placed 41st and 46th respectively.

    In the shot put, Nelsonville-York’s Will Odenthal (41-06.00) finished seventh while Grady Carlson (35-01.00) placed 24th. Trimble’s Walton (33-04.00) finished 33rd. Federal Hocking’s Householder (31-03.00) and Rilo Wilkes (30-07.00) placed 39th and 42nd.

    Girls Results

    In the 400 meter dash, Federal Hocking’s Ellie Needs (1:04.09) placed eighth.

    In the 800 meter run, Federal Hocking’s Kara Jarvis (2:34.85) placed sixth. Trimble’s Abby Weber (2:39.66) placed 12th.

    In the 1600 meter run, Weber (5:58.74) finished ninth.

    In the 3200 meter run, Federal Hocking’s Emma Lucas (14:33.63) and Sophia Carlson (16:42.25) placed 15th and 23rd.

    In the 100 meter hurdles, Nelsonville-York’s Chloee Vohlken (17.48) qualified for Regionals with a fourth place finish.

    In the 4x100 meter relay, Federal Hocking’s team of Brenlee Cottrill, Jarvis, Addison Joy and Annamarie Montle (53.22) Placed second to qualify for Regionals. The same group placed second in the 4x200 meter relay.

    The 4x400 meter relay team of Needs, Rorie Tabler, Jarvis and Kyndal Snedden gave Federal Hocking a third place finish, yet again sending them to Regionals.

    The 4x800 meter relay team for Federal Hocking, consisting of Olivia Tabler, Elizabeth Boyd, Taylor Snedden and Hannah Lucas placed 14th.

    In the high jump, Federal Hocking’s Juni Ballew (4-10.00) tied four other jumpers but ultimately finished in fifth place.

    In the long jump, Nelsonville-York’s Vohlken (14-10.00) placed sixth. Federal Hocking’s Stella Gilcher (13-07.75) finished 14th.

    Federal Hocking’s Annamarie Montle (11-00.00) easily won the pole vault event. Gilcher (9-08.00) also qualified for Regionals with a third place finish.

    In the discus throw, Nelsonville-York’s Kendra Monnin (87-08.00) placed 16th while Cali Papineau (66-10.00) finished 24th. Federal Hocking’s Sheridan Boyd (53-00.00) and Haley Knopp (49-08.00) placed 39th and 41st respectively.
