(NEXSTAR) – Courteney Cox says she still feels the spiritual presence of her late “Friends” co-star Matthew Perry.
Cox, who starred alongside Perry on the hit NBC sitcom, said in a segment on CBS News Sunday Morning that she still gets “visits” from Perry, who died in October 2023.
“I’m so thankful I got to work so closely with him for so many years,” she told CBS correspondent Jonathan Vigliotti. “He visits me a lot, if we believe in that.”
Cox also said Perry — who she declared “one of the funniest human beings in the world” — was still a presence in her life.
“I talk to my mom, my dad, Matthew,” Cox, 59, said of her late parents and Perry. “I feel like there are a lot of people that are … I think they guide us.”
“I sense Matthew’s around for sure,” she added.

Matthew Perry died at his home in Los Angeles on Oct. 28, 2023. Authorities confirmed Perry was already dead when first responders arrived to find him propped up in a hot tub, after having initially been discovered by another person.
A medical examiner’s report ultimately determined the cause of death to be “acute effects” of ketamine, adding that “the main lethal effects would be from both cardiovascular overstimulation and respiratory depression.”
Shortly after his death, Perry’s “Friends” castmates released a joint statement to People .
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” the statement, from Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, said. “There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.
“In time, we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world,” the statement concluded.
