Georgia Geese Adopt Orphaned Baby Goose

There's nothing like a good uplift story to start off a new week especially when it comes to our very own wildlife here in the state of Georgia!

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources was contacted by one of their wildlife rehabbers in Augusta, Georgia over a darling baby goose that someone had brought in to them.

The baby goose at this point had no friends or family to care for them anymore and this is when the Georgia Department of Natural Resources stepped in on the situation!

Game management staff took the baby goose, or "gosling" if you will, to the McDuffie Public Fishing Area in Dearing, Georgia and placed him or her down near the water where it just so happens that several adult geese pairs were swimming nearby. The staff then watched carefully from a safe distance to see how the interaction would go and it could not have gone any better for the little baby!

Once the baby goose was released it swam up to a pair of two adult geese that were swimming towards the little guy or gal to greet them!

The baby goose quickly became adopted by the adults and became the newest member of this geese family!
