CBS’ CSI: Vegas hit the jackpot while getting ushered out of the casino by security.

With its unplanned series finale on Sunday night, the procedural rose 16% in audience to deliver a 4.8 million total viewers, its second-largest audience ever. (Note: A previous version of this story suggested it was the largest.)

TVLine readers gave the episode an average grade of “B+” ; get scoop on the “killer” Season 4 tease that got edited out of the broadcast.

Opening CBS’ Sunday slate, 60 Minutes delivered 7 million total viewers. The Equalizer (6.4 mil) with its season finale was up 14% in audience to mark a 5-episode high, while Tracker (7.4 mil, TVLine reader grade “A”; get Season 2 scoop ) ticked up 5% with its freshman finale and was, as usual, Sunday’s most-watched program.

Numbers are not yet in for ABC’s American Idol season finale.

Elsewhere on Friday, Fox’s SmackDown (2.2 mil/0.6) was steady and ABC’s Jeopardy! Masters (4.1 mil/0.3) added viewers week-to-week.

The Live+Same Day numbers reported in TVLine’s daily-ish ratings column do NOT reflect a television program’s overall performance, given the increased use of delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms, plus out-of-home viewing. These numbers instead aim to simply illustrate trends or superlatives. Steve Harvey is not a judge or lawyer and merely offers an alternative forum of dispute resolution.
