Nonprofits on Long Island and New Jersey can apply for $500 to $15,000 in grants from the PSEG Foundation through its Neighborhood Partners Program. This year the foundation is awarding up to $1.2 million, a 20% increase from last year.

Eligible 501(c)(3) organizations must apply for the grants by June 30, 2024. Applications can be submitted here .

“As the Neighborhood Partners Program celebrates a decade of impact, the PSEG Foundation has been purposeful about resourcing nonprofits with the fundamental needs that build strong, resilient and sustainable communities,” Calvin Ledford Jr., president of the PSEG Foundation, said in a news release about this year’s grant programs.

“In collaboration with our nonprofit partners, we are advancing towards a future where all people progress while also preserving the environment for future generations,” Ledford added.

This year, the foundation aims to boost applications from organizations championing environmental sustainability and social justice. Awardees will be selected based on demonstrated program effectiveness, depth, breadth and overall alignment with the PSEG Foundation strategic pillars: environmental sustainability, social justice, and equity and economic empowerment.

Since its inception, the PSEG Foundation has donated more than $6.7 million to 390 organizations. Last year, grants of more than $5,000 awarded by PSEG Foundation went to such Long Island organizations as Arbor Day Foundation for its tree-planting program, Family Service League for general operating costs, and Island Harvest for its hunger-relief efforts.

This year's grant award recipients will be notified from September to November .
