Yadkin County budget public hearing set for June 13

During its May 20 board meeting, the Yadkin County Board of Commissioners held Legislative Public Hearings for Rezoning Cases RZ24-004, RZ24-005, and RZ24-006 and approved those requests.

The board approved a budget amendment to cover salary lines in multiple departments for the remainder of the fiscal year and passed two resolutions to accept American Rescue Plan Act funds from the State Fiscal Recovery Fund to assist with water/wastewater infrastructure needs.

The Fee Schedule for fiscal year 2025 was approved.

The fiscal year 2025 Budget Public Hearing for scheduled for June 13 at 7 p.m. There are no proposed changes to the county tax rate for the 2025 fiscal year budget.

The July 15 Board of Commissioners Meeting was rescheduled to to July 22 at 7 p.m.

Also approved during the meeting was an updated Opioid Settlement Spending Resolution for fiscal year 2025.

During her Manager’s Report, Lisa Hughes presented the Board with her recommended budget for fiscal year 2025.
