Former Gov. Larry Hogan and his campaign team, Hogan for Maryland, headed to Essex on May 19 for the International Longshoremen Association Local 333’s Bridge of Support Family Fun Day.

“It was great to spend time with the longshoremen and their family and friends, particularly after what they’ve been through over the last couple of months,” Hogan said.

“I want to especially thank all the local businesses that contributed to making this day so memorable for the community. It was an honor to be invited to such a special event.”

Hogan, a Republican who served two terms as Maryland’s governor from 2015 to 2023, will face Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks (D) in a bid for Maryland’s U.S. Senate seat currently occupied by incumbent Ben Cardin (D).

Hogan also met with the longshoremen last month, along with International Longshoremen Association President Scott Cowan and State Senator Johnny Ray Salling, to discuss critical needs and priorities following the collapse of the Key Bridge.

“Leaders at every level of government and in both parties need to put aside the politics and work together to get the wreckage cleared and get our longshoremen back to work as soon as possible,” Hogan said following the tragedy.

“This is not just critical for Baltimore and Maryland but for our nation’s economy and supply chain.”
