Angela Brandenburg is on pace for a second term as Clackamas County sheriff, based on the latest returbs

According to results from Clackamas County that were updated Wednesday afternoon, Brandenburg leads Lynn Schoenfeld and Paul Moore in a three-person race with 53% of the 58,084 votes counted. Schoenfeld has 36% of the vote while Moore has 11%.

To avoid a runoff in a primary with at least three candidates, an individual needs 50%+1 of the vote.

Brandenburg is seeking a second term after winning a four-person race to take over for Craig Roberts in 2020.

Schoenfeld, a retired former sergeant with CCSO, ran again this year after coming in second in 2020.

Moore, who described himself in a campaign filing as a security expert, consultant, personal protection specialist and executive manager, is a Milwaukie resident and former United States Marine. He previously served as deputy sheriff in Lane County.

This is Oregon’s second election affected by the new postmark rule. Ballots dropped off by 8 p.m. Tuesday or postmarked by then will count. In 2022, county election offices received a large amount of ballots at the last minute, delaying the final results in some races.

    This story will be updated.
