Former State Assemblyman Robert Castelli dies at 74

Former State Assemblyman Robert Castelli has died at the age of 74.

Castelli lived in Golden's Bridge and is survived by his wife and two sons.

Sen. Pete Harckham, who Castelli defeated in an Assembly race, called him a good friend and a patriot. Castelli was also a Vietnam veteran, a college professor, and a political commentator at News 12.

A celebration of life will take place in Chappaqua at the Campfire Club of America on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Somers on Saturday at 10 a.m.
