    America’s Water Supply Under Attack

For years, concerns have been that America’s electric grid could be attacked and partially disabled. There has been particular anxiety that a representative of an outside nation could do this. America’s water supply can be added to the list of essential services that could be interrupted to the detriment of individuals and enterprises.

Another Water Danger –Mexico City Runs Dry

Semafor states, “About 70% of utilities inspected over the past year had inadequate safeguards: Some still had default passwords or allowed access to former employees. Attacks from Iranian-, Russian-, and Chinese-linked groups have targeted and in some cases disrupted the water supply in Texas, Pennsylvania, and other states, and the attacks are growing both more severe and more frequent.” The figure is staggeringly high.

    The 1,200 Year Drought

Lack of access to water is an environmental risk. A 1,200-year drought in the West drained large bodies of water, including Lake Mead and one of America’s longest rivers–the Colorado, which has headwaters near the Canadian border. Recent rain and snow have lessened that problem, at least temporarily.

Lack of access to water is a global problem that virtually always originates in nature. The underlying cause is usually climate change.

The hack of the water system robs an area quickly instead of over months or years. An attack on the US water system could be disastrous in drought-prone areas like Phoenix.

A water system back might be considered climate change, the effects of which can happen instantly.
