Yadkin Valley Rotary President Holly Lamm, joined by other Rotary members, recently presented an AED Defibrillator to David Steelman and Quinn Wilkins of the Yadkin Valley Chamber of Commerce.

Yadkin Valley Rotary Club used the Rotary District #7690 Grant to provide the AED at The Heritage Center & Yadkin Valley Chamber of Commerce facility.

An AED, or automated external defibrillator, is used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. It’s a sophisticated, yet easy-to-use, medical device that can analyze the heart’s rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock, or defibrillation, to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm.

“Our 2022-2023 Club President Warren Bates was instrumental in helping us get this, I wish I could take credit for it,” laughed Lamm.

“It is in a much-needed place with the increased traffic to our town and especially with the amphitheaters coming soon,” she added.,
