Joe DeCamara wonders if Rob Thomson will have the "guts" to bench Nick Castellanos if he continues to struggle at the plate in the postseason.

"Number one, he is very lucky that they're playing great baseball because if they weren't he would be the primary focal point of scorn for a couple million Phillies fans, because his bat has stunk," DeCamara said of Castellanos on Wednesday's 94WIP Morning Show.

"Number two," DeCamara continued, "Come October you're in a 2-2 series, best of seven Game 5, he's hitting .180 in the playoffs. Like, there is going to come a moment where Rob Thomson is going to have to make a decision, 'Do I let him keep playing or not?'

"I will be fascinated to know if Rob Thomson has—and I'll use the term—the guts. And I love Rob Thomson. But does he have the guts to look at a veteran player with a good past struggling, if he still is in October, and say, 'Big boy, you ain't playing tonight.'"

DeCamara gave an example of New York Yankees manager Joe Torre benching Paul O'Neill during their 2001 postseason run.

"My number one concern for the playoffs is that Rob is going to trust his guys too much," James Seltzer added.

Casty is hitting .207 this season with just four home runs and 46 strikeouts in 48 games. He has just four hits, batting .182, in his last six games.
