    Public meeting

GLOUSTER — Trimble Local School Board of Education will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. May 30 at Trimble High School Library, 1 Tomcat Drive, Glouster.

The hearing will be about John Hurd, current superintendent, who will be retired and is seeking re-employment with the district in the same position after his retirement. According to minutes from a previous meeting, Hurd made the proposal as an effort to save the district money as he would draw funds from his retirement plan, rather than be paid by the district.

After the hearing, a special board meeting will be held to approve the district’s five-year forecast and discuss the compensation of a public employee.

    Boil Order

NELSONVILLE — The Nelsonville Water Department issued a boil order extension for all customers on Burr Oak Boulevard from High Street to the US route 33 overpass, Hillside Drive, Crihfield Drive and Starr Drive, until noon Thursday. This boil order is necessary due to a tie-in for a new water line.

When a boil order is in effect, we ask all who are affected to boil their cooking and drinking water for three minutes before being consumed.
