Five retire from Franklin Elementary School

Franklin Elementary School recently celebrated the retirement of five of the school’s staffers.

Susan Ayers, Kayla Ellis, Donna Fillius, Karen Pruitt, and Sherry Smith will all be stepping down at the end of this school year.

The five, along with the rest of the school staff, were joined by the retirees’ family and friends to celebrate.

“They have made such wonderful and lasting impressions on many student’s lives,” school officials said.

The faculty told some of their favorite memories and stories about working with these ladies.

“These ladies will be greatly missed,” officials said.

The Social Committee reached out to Bryson Key’s Advanced Studies Class from Surry Central to prepare the food for the retirement reception.

“We hope you enjoy every minute of your retirement, it is well deserved,” they said.
