St. Luke's University Health Network has been recognized as one of the nation’s Best Employers for New Grads, Forbes magazine announced Tuesday.

“As the Lehigh Valley’s only remaining locally controlled health care network and most preferred health care employer in the area, St. Luke’s is fully invested in the future of our community, and that means we work diligently to attract, train, retain and promote employees throughout every part of our organization,” Evan Ochs, senior vice president of Human Resources, said in reference to the designation. “This recognition is the latest confirmation that St. Luke’s is a caring organization that believes our employees are our most important asset.”

The Best Employers for New Grads have been identified in an independent survey from a sample of over 100,000 young U.S. professionals with less than 10 years of work experience. Respondents included employees working for companies with at least 1,000 people, according to Forbes. The final score was based on two types of evaluations:

    • Personal / direct evaluations given by employees themselves.

    • Public / indirect evaluations given by friends and family members of employees, or members of the public who work in the same industry.

Over two million evaluations were considered.

St. Luke’s was the only local employer named to Forbes’ list of Best Employers for New Grads.

In August, St. Luke’s was named the top-ranked Lehigh Valley-based employer in Forbes’ ranking of employers in Pennsylvania and also was named by Forbes Magazine as one of America’s Best Employers for Women.
