FIRST CLIP: Star Wars: The Acolyte Reveals Furious Combat Scene

Disney has released the first clip from upcoming Star Wars original series, The Acolyte .

It demonstrates the handy combat skills of shows of two Force-sensitive warriors as Mae (Amandla Stenberg) and Sol (Lee Jung-jae) fight each other.

There are no lightsabers here, however. The pair are waging an epic battle of fists and feet. “You attack me without a weapon?” asks Sol. “Why?”

It might be a while before we get an answer to that question. Maybe Mae didn’t receive lightsaber training. Or maybe she just forgot it.

Ever honorable, Sol responds in kind, choosing not to whip out his blade as an act of courtesy. Force powers are most definitely on the table, however. At one point he uses super speed to dart behind Mae and catch her off guard.

If the combat looks crisp, it’s because the choreographer also directed the action in the Shang-Chi and Kingsman movies.

The two-episode premiere of The Acolyte streams June 4th on Disney+.
