Google Fiber to Expand Service to Kent and Bellevue

Google Fiber reported on Thursday it is exploring plans to expand its point-to-point wireless offerings beyond Seattle.

Seattle has been a GFiber Webpass city since 2017, according to the company. Since then, multi-tenant communities around the city from Belltown to Capitol Hill to the U District have enjoyed its fiber-to-the-home broadband network.

The company reports it is now in advanced talks with the City of Kent and several other municipalities in the area about bringing GFiber’s high-speed broadband networks tailored to neighborhoods with single-family homes.

GFiber Webpass is also migrating to Bellevue, where the company expects to hook up its first customers by the end of this summer, according to Google Fiber.
