PHOTOS: Meals, Wheels and Deals at the Rock

Rockingham Dragway opened up the track for Richmond County residents to test their vehicles during an open house May 23.

The event — dubbed Meals, Wheels and Deals — is the second under the Dragway’s current ownership, and was sponsored by the Richmond County Tourism Development Authority and the city of Rockingham.

Cars on the track ranged for a Corvette to a Denali to a Tesla Cybertruck.

For those not ready to roll down the quarter-mile track, Roy Hill’s Drag Racing School was offering free ride-alongs in Ford Mustangs and a three-seat dragster.

The event also included food from Burger Bros and music from Chuck Smith and Nikki Fletcher.
