Sandcastle opens Saturday, county pools will soon follow

With Memorial Day weekend here, it’s time to make sometime to lay out by the pool.

Allegheny County has announced their pools and spray parks will open for the season on Saturday, June 1.

That includes the Boyce Park and Settlers Cabin Park Wave Pools, as well as the North Park Swimming Pool.

The South Park Wave Pool is currently undergoing repairs, it’s opening will be delayed.

The Deer Lakes Spray Park and Round Hill Spray Park will both open on June 1 as well. They will be open daily from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. and admission is free.

City of Pittsburgh pools are scheduled to open on Saturday, June 15. Get more information on city pools here .

Another big sign that the unofficial start of summer is here, Kennywood is now open every day through late-August.

The renovated, new Potato Patch-themed bumper cars will open on Saturday, May 25.

Idlewild Park’s SoakZone Water Park opens on Saturday as well with free admission for military personnel and veterans. That free admission offer is also valid at Kennywood.

Sandcastle Water Park also opens on Saturday, celebrating its 35th anniversary.

All educators will be able to get in to Sandcastle for free (with discounted tickets for friends and family) Saturday through June 30.
