Viña VIK —the groundbreaking vineyard and winery experience in in Chile's Millahue Valley—is delighted to announce its latest endeavor: STONEVIK . Representing both innovation and a natural evolution of VIK's winemaking process, STONEVIK embodies the truest expression of terroir, crafted by nature, in nature, and in harmony with natural energy forces.
I first visited VIK back in 2019, upon arrival at the winery you are gobsmacked by an incredible feat of architecture in the middle of a valley with mountains protruding from the base the Andes, vineyards perfectly situated on the right slopes, and one of the most stunning winery designs ever seen. Inside you find a James Bond like winery, haut-design with incredible intention behind every thing that is visible to you. Their restaurant serves the signature “from the garden to your table” concept, headed by Chef Pablo Cáceres. Additionally they have a hotel just a short drive from the winery— VIK Hotel —that features paintings by Roberto Matta and a diptych from Anslem Kiefer. Prepare to have your mind blown every step of the way.
Since its inception, VIK has taken a holistic approach to winemaking, guided by a commitment to environmental stewardship. VIK has always made wines with minimal intervention: using only native yeasts, no filtrations and no finings or additives to ensure nothing interferes with the expression of VIK. STONEVIK marks a natural evolution of this ethos, harnessing the power of nature to create a truly distinctive wine.

STONEVIK is the Ultimate Natural Wine created in Nature by Nature. Pure Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère grapes grown on the VIK estate, using the best practices of holistic, organic, and biodynamic traditions, are fermented in native VIK toasted oak barrels for one moon. The wine is then aged in seven handmade native VIK clay amphoras, three for the Universe and four for the Earth. They are aligned according to astronomical principles around a mandala in a natural electromagnetic energy field. The amphoras are semi-buried in our mountaintop La Robleria forest, protected by the towering oak trees and eagles flying above. There STONEVIK yields to the wisdom of the forest and each summer solstice nature gives us a pure and exceptional wine.
