    Carry The Load: Dallas Memorial March

    March with your families and friends to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. The Dallas Memorial March is a two-day embodiment of the Carry the Load values and mission to celebrate our heroes, embrace the fallen, and educate communities on how to respectfully observe Memorial Day.
    Where: Reverchon Park, Dallas
    When: Sunday, May 26 Noon to Monday, May 27 at 1 p.m.

    DSO: Memorial Day Concert

    The Dallas Symphony Orchestra is dedicated to providing the joy of music to our diverse community, to truly make the DSO everyone’s orchestra. For more than 25 years, the DSO has presented Symphony in the Parks throughout Dallas. This year, The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” and The U.S. Army Chorus from Washington, DC, take over this audience favorite on Memorial Day! Featuring patriotic favorites and fireworks to close the concert, it’s a fun-filled evening for the whole family. (Rain site: Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center)

    Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden: Memorial Day Family Fun Weekend

    Spend the holiday weekend at the Dallas Arboretum during Memorial Day Family Fun Weekend, presented by Primrose Schools in Dallas – Fort Worth. Stroll through the garden with 65,000 new, vibrant and colorful summer plantings including elephant ears, birds of paradise, and bromeliads. Weekend activities include: children can pop bubbles and interact with farm animals at the Country Critters petting zoo, enjoy peaceful piano performances at Jeanne’s Pavilion, listen to music at the Martin Rutchik Concert Lawn and Stage, and bring a picnic or purchase food, or tour the historic DeGolyer House.
    During Memorial Day Family Fun Weekend, admission to the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden is free with paid general garden admission.

    George W. Bush Presidential Center: Freedom Matters

    Freedom Matters uses rare artifacts and historical documents, interactive activities, and personal perspectives to examine the concept of freedom: where it comes from, what it means, what free societies look like, and the role of the individual in protecting and spreading freedom around the world.

    Memorial Day Pool Party/National Moment of Remembrance

    At The Texas Pool, the historic 168,000-gallon saltwater pool shaped like Texas, there will be a Memorial Day Pool Party on the first day of operation this season. Visitors will enjoy raffles, traditional pool games, and more. Special guests include Miss Plano Sadie Schiermeyer and members of the Texas Pool Mermaid Pod. The National Moment of Remembrance starts just before 3pm with a flag ceremony presented by Scouts BSA Troop 259.

    Prosper Memorial Day Ceremony

    Join the Prosper for a special Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday morning to honor the brave men and women who lost their lives while serving our country.  This solemn and patriotic ceremony will feature guest speakers including Mayor David Bristol and Congressman Keith
    Self, an invocation, Presentation of the Colors, National Anthem, Pledge of Allegiance, TAPS and a moment of silence. This ceremony will be an opportunity for the community to come together and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
