Simone Ashley’s Cannes Look Is a Study in Glamour

Well, Simone Ashley’s Cannes moment has officially entered the canon. The Bridgerton heroine with a face card to prove it was seen at Hotel Martinez in Cannes, France during the Cannes Film Festival this morning, and god bless America, glamour is back.
Ashley wore a very sexy leopard print dress by Dolce & Gabbana with a peek-a-boo bra strap and neckline showing. She styled the look with a pair of black open-toed Party Mules by Ilio Smeraldo. The pumps are open-back, which make her legs look a thousand miles long. She also had on a black Prada Cleo bag on her shoulder, and a pair of black sunglasses. Her glam was very straightforward: simple makeup and her hair tied back in a low ponytail.
The British actress has been back in the public eye, making appearances and being papped, ever since the Season 3 release of Shonda Rhimes’ hit Netflix show, Bridgerton , based off the novel series by Julia Quinn. In it, Ashley plays Kate Sharma who becomes the unlikely love interest of one very hard-to-please, daddy issues-ridden Anthony Bridgerton.
Simone Ashley’s Bridgerton character Kate and her sister, Edwina, played by actress Charithra Chandran, were the central characters of the show’s second season. With Season 3, out now , fans have been eager to see how their story would be woven into the new central plot, now starring Penelope and Colin, played by Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton.
All I can say is that summer is here, and real glamour is back. We are Aperol Spritzing our way across the Mediterranean, even if only in our minds. If her look, along with everyone else’s, is anything for trend prediction, I think it’s that we’ll be seeing a lot of animal print, lingerie, and full on sexiness this summer. Sex appeal is in, bra straps are out, and there’s nowhere better to be an It Girl right now except in Cannes.
