    Wolfe, Powell County squads rescue woman injured hiking

    CAMPTON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A woman was rescued from a hiking trail in the Daniel Boone National Forest on Wednesday.

    Wolfe County Search and Rescue said they received a call around 2 p.m. that a hiker on the Bison Way trail had injured her leg and was unable to walk on her own.

    Powell County Search and Rescue was called in to support Wolfe County Search and Rescue due to a limited number of team members.

    The team located the hiker and began treating her injuries while waiting for a stokes basket and additional manpower. When the basket arrived, she was carried out and taken to get additional care by her friends, according to Wolfe County Search and Rescue.
