Osceola County, Florida – In an effort to keep pace with the rapid growth of the Sunbridge community, Osceola County, in collaboration with Tavistock Development Company, is set to launch a major enhancement project on Cyrils Drive. This $29.8 million initiative aims to transform Cyrils Drive into a four-lane thoroughfare extending from east of Narcoossee Road to Absher Road, marking a significant upgrade to the local infrastructure.

Scheduled to start in May and slated for completion by summer 2026, this project is not just about adding lanes; it includes the construction of a sidewalk, a 12-foot-wide multiuse trail for pedestrians and cyclists, new landscaping in the median and along the roadside, and substantial improvements to gutter and drainage systems. It also introduces traffic signals at the Zuni Drive intersection to improve safety and flow.

Funding for the project mainly comes from development fees, reflecting Osceola County's commitment to sustainable development and strategic growth management. This approach ensures that enhancements are not only comprehensive but also mindful of the community's future needs.

With construction on the horizon, the county is preparing to minimize disruption for residents. Electronic message boards and clear signage will guide motorists and inform the community about the ongoing work and any traffic adjustments. Importantly, access to homes, community facilities, and routes for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained throughout the construction period.

Looking ahead, Cyrils Drive is set to connect to the Sunbridge Parkway, offering access to the Beachline (S.R. 528), which will further enhance connectivity and accessibility for the region.

For those interested in more details or who may have concerns about the construction, Osceola County has set up a dedicated project webpage at www.osceola.org/go/cyrilsdrive, and current traffic updates can be found at www.osceola.org/go/trafficalerts. Questions related to construction can be directed to the project hotline at 407-632-0040 or via email at CyrilsDrive@QCAusa.com.

This project is a key piece in the puzzle of Osceola County’s broader strategy to support and sustain its booming population, ensuring that infrastructure keeps up with growth and continues to meet the needs of its residents.
