BOWLING GREEN — Perrysburg starting pitcher Parker Faris allowed just two hits in 6⅓ innings to lead Perrysburg to a 5-1 Division I district title victory over Southview on Friday night at Carter Park.

Faris allowed just one earned run with five walks and seven strikeouts, before giving way to reliever Tyler Palmer for the final two outs of the game.

The Yellow Jackets did their scoring early with two runs in the first inning and three runs in the second inning.

Matt Hubbard reached on an error in the first, scoring Connor Kessinger, and Braxton Mefferd followed with an RBI double to score Hubbard.

In the second, Hubbard doubled home a run, and Brayden Heitmeyer reached on an error that allowed two more Yellow Jackets runs to score.

Carson Fielding and Ryan DeShetler had the lone hits for Southview.

Southview scored its only run in the second when Ramzee Abuhashish scampered home on a passed ball with the bases loaded.

Perrysburg will face the winner of Saturday’s St. Francis-Whitmer game in a regional semifinal on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Bowling Green's Warren E. Steller Field.
