CPL: Greenville claims Gnome Opener against Tri-City

The Gnomes were right at home on Friday night.

Playing their first-ever home game in Guy Smith Stadium, the Greenville Yard Gnomes claimed a 5-4 triumph over Tri-City to even its record at 1-1 in the Coastal Plain League.

The Gnomes pounded out 10 hits to Tri-City's six and trimmed its four errors from opening night down to one on Friday.

Joe Siervo had a pair of hits including a home run in the Greenville win.

The Yard Gnomes travel to Morehead City on Saturday before returning home for consecutive games on Sunday and Monday against Peninsula and Wilson.
