It is 120 degrees F in Phalodi, India. The ten hottest places in the world are all in India or neighboring Pakistan. Each has a temperature of over 110 degrees F. The heat index in these places is unknown.

Phalodi is in the northeast corner of India, near its border with Pakistan and almost directly east of New Delhi. It is known as the “salt city” because of the huge salt industry close by.

Phalodi is in the buffer zone of the Thar Desert and regularly experiences extreme temperature conditions due to its arid climate. It also holds the record temperature for its state, Rajasthan, at 123 degrees F. Phalodi has a population of 44,000.

100 Degrees All Year

The city’s mean daily maximum temperature is over 100 degrees F from April through September, and the annual figure is 94 degrees F, which makes it one of the hottest places in the world. The city gets less than seven inches of rain a year.

Among the most notable things about  Phalodi is that most humans cannot stay in a place with a temperature above 100 degrees F for long.
