Before planning your activities for the Memorial Day weekend, it's useful to know which stores and businesses will be open or closed. While many retail and grocery stores will remain open, with some even offering holiday sales, most corporate offices, government agencies, and banks will be closed on Monday because it's a federal holiday.

Here's a breakdown of what will be open and closed on Memorial Day 2024:

Banks: Since Memorial Day is a bank holiday in the Federal Reserve system, most bank branches will be closed. However, you can still access online banking services and ATMs. Additionally, the stock market will be closed.

Post offices and shipping services: The United States Post Service will observe Memorial Day, meaning there won't be any mail delivery on May 27. USPS locations will also be closed. If you plan to use UPS for shipping a package, note that pickups and deliveries won't be available, and many UPS Store locations will be closed as well. FedEx, on the other hand, will have limited service, with only Fedex Custom Critical delivery available. FedEx Office stores will operate with modified hours.
