Will not happen unfortunately. They are giving money for vouchers and those that know about and worked in public schools know that will decimate the structure, the jobs of support personnel, and the cost to losing teachers will be steep. Money is not just used for teachers. Shame. Welcome to NC and its disrespect for education. Funding through the lottery is also a shame. There is no respect. I was a teacher, team leader, chair, assistant principal. The toll it takes on principal health wise and dare I say having scruples to keep a school going is intolerable. I left. Tired of being beaten up, spit on, hit with 2x6 science boards, lying parents, student hardships, poverty, lack of….retired. Living with the physical and metal toll and hoping to get back to love job teaching GED students and ESOL. But I can do that. Others cannot pay rent. … unfortunately it will not be the politicians but the children that will suffer.
