Twisters Features “Intense Action and Peril,” and “Injury Images"

Twisters is apparently even more intense than its 1996 predecessor.

That’s according to the official age rating, which lists "intense action and peril, some language and injury images." Tornado hunters Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones are in for a bruising.

That’s what you get when you chase multiple whirling cyclones of death and mayhem. It’s not to say youngsters are banned from watching, however. Twisters has done just enough to earn a PG-13 rating.

Its predecessor got the same PG-13 rating, but its description wasn’t nearly as bad, listing "intense depictions of bad weather." No injury, peril, or bad language there.

It’s a good indication Twisters will outdo the first one in terms of destruction. It certainly benefits from advancements in CGI made in the almost three decades since Twister. The first film earned an Oscar nomination for Best Visual Effects, and made almost $500 million at the box office.

The cast includes In The Heights’ Anthony Ramos, Nope ’s Brandon Perea, and The Iron Claw ’s Maura Tierney.
