PASCO, Wash. - This weekend the Tri-cities Airport saw a glimpse of what's to come with summer traveling.

Apple Valley News Now went out to talk with airport officials and they said, as expected with Memorial Day, there was an increase in travelers and baggage.

The airport worked to prepare for the start of summer travel season. Going into the weekend, they said communication with one another helped everything go smoothly.

"We talk to each other we let each other know if something's going to be kind of increased when it comes to baggage and stuff like that," said McKenney Jones. Jones is the team captain for Rides & Air at the Tri-Cities Airport. "Other than that, we just follow our load procedures and make sure everything is safe and ready to go."
