Andor star Adria Arjona recently opened up about meeting a fan dressed as her Star Wars character, Bix Caleen , and revealed whether she would ever be interested in headlining her own Star Wars series on Disney+ .

In an interview with Variety to promote her new movie, Hit Man, Arjona touched on the importance of her character in the Star Wars galaxy, revealing that many fans have thanked her for adding more representation to the science fiction franchise.

“It’s really emotional. When the first season premiered, the trailer had come out, maybe a couple days or a teaser had come out and I get to the premiere and there’s this wonderful, beautiful Latin woman in my costume,” she recalled. “She had maybe 24 hours to create this costume. She started crying. She’s like, ‘I’m the biggest Star Wars fan, but I had never seen a woman like myself in Star Wars.'”

Arjona continued, “I started crying. That’s had always been a dream of mine to be in Star Wars, to be in that universe and to represent and not in a gimmicky way. I am not a Latin woman in Star Wars. I’m just a woman in Star Wars.”

Would Adria Arjona return for an Andor spin-off series?

With Andor set to end with its upcoming second season , Arjona was asked if she would consider reprising the role of Bix Caleen for a spin-off series on Disney+. “I feel like a big spinoff could be later in my career. I’m trying to give job security to myself in the future,” she said. “I’m trying to elongate it. I got a tattoo for Bix. My makeup artist from the show did it in my trailer.”

The first season of Andor, consisting of 12 episodes, was released on Disney+ between September and November 2022. A second season, also comprising 12 episodes, is expected to premiere on the streamer in early 2025. While Season 1 took place over one year, Season 2 will span four years, bringing the series up to the events of the 2016 movie, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and concluding Cassian Andor’s story.

The first season of Andor is streaming on Disney+. A premiere date for Season 2 has not been set yet.
