In a stirring interview on The Rashad Richey Morning Show , Campaign Lead of Combat The Silence Kali Hoffman , sheds light on the critical mission of the Blue Star Families Combat the Silence campaign .

Blue Star Families, an organization dedicated to supporting military families during transitions and deployments, has embarked on a new initiative in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Combat the Silence campaign aims to combat the alarming rates of military suicide by empowering families and communities with the tools to recognize and intervene in mental health crises.

Mrs. Hoffman articulates the campaign's core message, drawing from her own experiences as both a military spouse and a first responder, she emphasized the importance of breaking the silence surrounding mental health issues within the military community.

Mrs. Hoffman's journey is deeply intertwined with the cause she champions. As the spouse of a decorated Marine veteran, she has witnessed firsthand the toll that military service can take on mental well-being. Her experiences as a first responder further underscored the urgent need for mental health support within military communities.

Central to Blue Star Families' mission is the destigmatization of mental health issues within the military community. Despite increased awareness efforts in recent years, Mrs. Hoffman acknowledges that stigma remains a significant barrier to seeking help. "We are still very much in a macho culture where our warriors do not feel comfortable saying that they feel less than competent," she observes.
