Castaways Beach Club Opens Its Doors

Stefani Restaurant Group officially debuted the first phase of its opening of Castaways Beach Club (formerly Castaways Bar & Grill) on Saturday, May 25th in celebration of Memorial Day. Situated on North Avenue Beach (1603 N. Lakeshore Dr.), the boat-shaped seasonal restaurant has been a Chicago lakefront destination for over two decades. With plans to open in two phases, Castaways reopened Memorial Day weekend with its North end space showcasing an enhanced look, elevated food and beverage offerings and additional seating.

The updated space will include dining decks, bar areas and patio spaces capable of accommodating up to 300 people. Castaways will also have six cabanas available for rent and private events, where each cabana includes admission for up to 12 guests. The two-level Castaways spanning 22,000 sq. feet will be a go-to place for all occasions – from offering sit-down dining options to its exciting cabana deck with bottle service, bands and DJs.

“Castaways has been a cherished part of Chicago’s lakefront for over two decades, and we’re incredibly excited to bring it back with a refreshed approach,” said owner Anthony Stefani in a statement. “With our updated vision, guests will be able to enjoy whatever experience they’re after from a beach day with friends to a dinner with their family.”

Castaways Beach Club will offer lunch and dinner daily, featuring a diverse but approachable menu of global beach fare cuisine. Diners can enjoy a variety of dishes, including Shrimp Ceviche, Whipped Ricotta and Steak Tacos. Additionally, the cocktail menu will feature a curated selection of drinks, highlighting a Shoreline Spritz and Spicy Watermelon Margarita.

The lakefront spot offers a setting for corporate events, cocktail parties and other special celebrations. Its versatile space can cater to groups ranging from 30 to over 300 attendees, catering to both intimate gatherings and full buyouts.

Castaways Beach Club will be open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week, weather permitting.
