“Based on a real Catholic organization, The Miracle Department is a heartfelt, comedic, hour-long series about a brilliant, but disgraced, former FBI agent who joins forces with a quirky task force to hunt for genuine miracles,” per the official synopsis.

Brendan McCarthy and Alex Kavallierou ( Grace and Frankie ) will serve as writers and executive producers on the prospective series, with their Grace and Frankie colleague Marta Kauffman also serving as an EP. (Kauffman is best known for co-creating the hit NBC sitcom Friends , with other credits including Dream On and Veronica’s Closet .)

Fox has already rolled out its primetime schedule for next season, with new series Rescue: HI-Surf — a lifeguard drama set in Hawaii — slated to air Mondays at 9/8c, following the return of 9-1-1: Lone Star .
