Looking for love? Here are the three things women really want you to do on a date — and they’re not hard

Love stinks.
In a new study of relationships, practically everyone — 91% of men and 94% of women — agreed that that dating has become more difficult in recent years.
The not-shocking news was recently released by dating app Tinder, which surveyed 8,000 heterosexual men and women ages 18 to 34, in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada.

After years of hook-up culture and disposable dating taking over the scene, respondents said, we’re looking for commitment.
The majority of singles — both 53% of men and 68% of women — are searching for a serious relationship and equal partnership — 78% of men and 84% of women, according to the survey.
But how to get there? One of the more revealing aspects of the research came from women sharing what it is they are looking for, when dating a potential partner.
To help struggling suitors, Tinder revealed the ladies’ top three musts when on a date:
“Make sure your date gets home safely.” 59% of women found this level of care to be chivalrous (versus 38% of men).
2. “Put your phone away during one-on-one time.” 55% of women prefer going screen-free on dates (versus 34% of men)
3. “Give sincere compliments.” 50% of women gave a thumbs up to genuine affirmations (versus 35% of men).

“Of course, opening doors is still appreciated across many ages and genders, but as we can see, intentions and actions versus feigned gentlemanly behaviors appear to be winning out,” the Tinder report noted.
“We want connection more than ever, but now in a way that doesn’t feel rushed or disingenuous — as long as everyone can get on the same page,” it read.
Tinder’s Global Relationships Insight Expert Paul Brunson suggests that those looking for love begin by focusing on respect and communication — whether you’re on or offline.
Here are Tinder’s five tips for authentic, respectful and honest dating:
Tinder’s Green Flag Dating Tips:
1.) Respect is all around: From the moment the connection is made to your IRL date and beyond, observe how they interact and treat others. From the messages they send to how they engage with their mom, respect counts heaps.
2.) Bring yourself: Keep it real from the beginning. From photo verified dating profiles to embracing what makes them, them (including their quirks). Look for what makes this human unique.
3.) Two ears, one mouth: Developing a connection is about sharing communication. Be actively aware of how much they’re listening and whether they’re taking the time to know you, rather than them ‘stealing the mic’.
4.) Who are they really: There’s a lot to be said about putting your cards on the table and vice versa. From life goals, to financial set up to friendship circles — can they articulate clearly where they are in their life and most importantly does that fit with what you want.
5.) Your gut never lies: Above all else, dating comes back to one thing — your gut. No “Green Flag” can overshadow this. If it’s not happening, it’s not happening. Move on and continue to enjoy your dating journey.
