Race the GRIND Mountain Biking Event

The GRIND Mountain Bike Race is a family-friendly event in Minnesota, perfect for female riders and families with children. Whether you’re a mom looking for an adventurous day out or a family seeking fun on two wheels, the GRIND has something for everyone. Young riders can join in on courses designed for striders, while experienced bikers can challenge themselves with the toughest 35-mile race in the state. Bring the whole family for a day of excitement, community, and outdoor fun!

The Long GRIND (35 miles) mountain bike race course features the most scenic and challenging terrain in Minnesota’s Iron Range. Riders will face tough climbs, fast descents, and varied terrain with rocks, roots, and creeks, offering plenty of passing opportunities.

The Short GRIND (19 miles) mountain bike course shares the first 17 miles of the Long GRIND. This race tests your skills on cross-country trails, snowmobile/ATV paths, and rugged mining roads. Whether you’re a first-timer, a weekend warrior, or a pro, you’re in for an amazing experience.

The Junior GRIND is an exciting mountain bike race designed for high school students. It offers young riders a pre-season challenge before the Minnesota Cycling Association High School Racing Series.

The Mini Miners Race is a .5-mile race for young riders aged 0-6 years old and is FREE!

The Miners Race is a 1-mile race for riders aged 7-12 years old and is FREE!

The GRIND Mountain Bike Race is a weekend adventure for the whole family ! Beyond the action on the race course, there’s a plethora of activities to keep everyone entertained, including:
