Dinwiddie County, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - Virginia State Police responded to a crash Friday involving a tractor-trailer and five other vehicles on Interstate 85 South in Dinwiddie County. The crash took place at around 7:45 a.m. on Friday, May 31.

The truck driver –  38-year-old Michael Earl Collins, of Chicago – did not slow for traffic and rear-ended the five vehicles. Two people were killed and several others, including the tractor-trailer driver, were injured.

The two killed were parents, and they have now been identified as 58-year-old Robert Edward Bass, of Crestview, Florida and his wife, 53-year-old Amanda Norton Bass.

Of those injured in the crash, two were flown by MedFlight to a nearby medical center, and two others were transported to the hospital in an ambulance.
